What is DePIN—and Why Does It Matter?

DePIN stands for Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks. It’s a new model for building real-world systems—like wireless networks, sensor grids, or storage infrastructure—by empowering individuals to own and operate pieces of the network, rather than relying on a single company or centralized entity.

Instead of raising billions to build a nationwide hail detection network from scratch, CertiStrike uses DePIN to distribute the infrastructure across a community. Each sensor is owned and maintained by people like you—and in return, they earn rewards for providing valuable, verified data.

How CertiStrike Works

1. Sensors Are Deployed

2. Data Is Verified and Shared

2. Data Is Verified and Shared

High-precision hail sensors are installed on homes, businesses, and key infrastructure across hail-prone regions. These devices are designed to detect actual hail impacts, measuring:

  • Size of each hailstone
  • Force of the impact
  • Exact timestamp and location

No radar models. No estimates. Just ground-truth data from the point of impact.

2. Data Is Verified and Shared

2. Data Is Verified and Shared

Each sensor submits data to the CertiStrike network in real time. The network verifies that the data is:

  • Authentic (no spoofing)
  • Timely (recorded and submitted quickly)
  • Accurate (matches other sensors in the area)

Verified data becomes part of a global hail impact map, accessible through our API and platform.

3. Businesses Tap Into the Network

4. Revenue Is Shared With the Network

4. Revenue Is Shared With the Network

Industries that rely on fast, accurate weather data—like:

  • Roofing & construction
  • Agriculture & solar
  • Insurance & emergency services

...can subscribe to the network and access live hail event data, helping them act faster, respond smarter, and reduce losses.

4. Revenue Is Shared With the Network

4. Revenue Is Shared With the Network

Every time a business pays for data access:

  • A portion of that revenue is distributed to the sensor operators who provided the data
  • Another portion goes toward network growth, buybacks, and development
  • Users with “Deductible Vaults” receive bonuses for participating in the safety net

The more valuable your sensor location, the more you can earn.
